Traditional EdChoice

EdChoice-designated public buildings in Central Ohio, 2026-27

If your child would be assigned to one of these buildings, traditional EdChoice pays the full scholarship with no income test.

Last verified: October 2026

Which public school buildings in the Columbus area are EdChoice-designated for 2026-27?

DEW's 2026-2027 designated list names 120 open buildings in Franklin, Delaware, Licking and Fairfield counties, in five districts: Columbus City Schools (95 of 112 open buildings), South-Western City (13), Groveport Madison (6), Whitehall City (4) and Newark City (2). No building in Delaware or Fairfield County is on the list.

What does it mean if my child's assigned building is designated?

Your child can apply for a traditional EdChoice Scholarship for 2026-27, worth $6,166 for K-8 or $8,408 for 9-12, with no income test and no reduction at higher incomes. Eligibility follows the building your child would be assigned to, whether or not the child attends it now.

How does DEW decide which buildings are designated?

The list uses Ohio's performance-index rankings across recent years and Title I poverty measures; a building can qualify under either an academic distress test or a bottom-20%-ranking-plus-poverty test. The spreadsheet shows which criteria each building met.
