Relocating to Central Ohio? Private schools by area, with funding

Families relocating to Central Ohio are often surprised that the state helps pay private school tuition for almost every K-12 student. Here is how to use the directory while you pick a neighborhood.

Do new Ohio residents qualify for EdChoice right away?

EdChoice Expansion requires Ohio residency outside the Cleveland district and household income documentation from a Form 1040. A family that arrives mid-year can still apply through June 30, 2027, at a prorated amount.

Does the suburb we choose affect EdChoice?

It can. Traditional EdChoice depends on whether your assigned public building is designated, and most designated buildings in the metro are in Columbus City Schools. EdChoice Expansion is the same anywhere in the four counties.

How do we compare private schools by area?

Our 12 community pages list every school in the directory by area, with grades, enrollment, affiliation and state charter status.
