School-Based Tuition Assistance

Need-based aid, sibling discounts, congregation-member rates and payment plans offered by the school itself, usually the layer that closes what EdChoice leaves.

What should a Columbus family ask a private school about aid?

Ask four things: Do you accept EdChoice and EdChoice Expansion for my child's grade? What is tuition after the scholarship? Which fees are billed separately? What need-based aid, sibling or member pricing do you offer? Our directory answers the first question's precondition, the state charter, before you call.

Why does school aid matter more at higher-tuition schools?

EdChoice is capped at $6,166 for K-8 and $8,408 for high school. At a school charging well above those amounts, the gap is the family's unless the school's aid, an SGO award or a parish grant fills it.
